Kent Broad

General Manager, WA Carbon Projects

Kent Broad (General Manager, WA Carbon Projects) has been a farmer and pastoralist for more than 25 years. Over the past couple of years, Kent has managed the development of multiple plantation forestry projects in the WA Wheatbelt in excess of 11,000ha. From 2006 to 2018, Kent project managed 12,000ha of environmental carbon plantings in the WA’s Mid West and helped develop Australia’s first Gold Standard carbon project.

Craig Anderson

General Manager Carbon Solutions

Craig Anderson (General Manager Carbon Solutions) has a Bachelor of Science (Forestry) and post graduate qualifications in Business and Business Administration. Craig has extensive experience in the agriculture and natural resource industries with the development of a number of large-scale agribusiness operations in Australia and south east Asia. He has also developed many significant carbon and environmental offset initiatives for multi-national organisations, NGOs and financial institutions.

Kelly Pang

Carbon Business Process Manager

Kelly Pang (Carbon Business Process Manager) has a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) with Honours and has extensive experience in the development of carbon projects. Kelly has registered, helped develop and establish multiple Plantation Forestry projects in WA and planned and assisted biodiverse carbon plantings under the Reforestation by Environmental or Mallee Plantings (FullCAM) method. In addition, Kelly has been involved in numerous Human Induced Regeneration (HIR) feasibility assessments and project registration.

Daniel Loden

Manager Carbon Solutions

Daniel Loden (Manager Carbon Solutions) has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science. Dan has 15 years’ experience working in the Australian carbon market in roles with large emitters and the not-for-profit sector. His strengths include carbon legislation, compliance, heritage legislation and TO engagement, carbon markets and commercial analysis. Dan has supported the commercial evaluation and development of multiple Plantation Forestry projects in WA.

Lucy Mulcahy

Carbon Monitoring Manager

Lucy Mulcahy (Carbon Project Manager) has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management, and a Masters in Global Environmental Studies. Lucy has 15 years’ experience working in WA’s sustainable forestry sector in roles with the State government and the forestry industry peak body. Having lived and worked in timber-centric towns in the South West of WA for many years, Lucy’s strengths include native forest and plantation field surveys, inventory and stratification; reserve design; mapping and GIS analysis; and communication. Lucy has registered, helped develop and establish multiple Plantation Forestry projects in WA.

Peter McNaught

Carbon Project Manager

Peter McNaught (Carbon Project Manager) has a Cert. IV in Horticulture, Business and Leadership & Management, experience in business and relationship management, delivering local government landscape and parks infrastructure projects and asset management capabilities. From WA’s Mid West region is passionate about sustainable practices, building relationships and ensuring local communities are well represented.

Harley Lacy

Carbon Solutions Consultant

Harley Lacy (Consultant, Adviser) has a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science, Environmental Management and Biology. Harley has considerable managerial experience in restoration ecology, mining environmental management, rural industry, business development and business systems. Harley is a Co-Founder of Outback Carbon, and other companies.

Joe Shackleton

Carbon Project Manager

Joe Shackleton (Consultant, Adviser) has a Bachelor in Botany and Indigenous Knowledge, History and Heritage and seven years in the forestry industry in tree planting and tree inventory management. Joe lives in the Perth Hills and is passionate about bushland regeneration and maintenance. Joe has excellent on the ground practical knowledge for executing and managing our projects.

Harry Stam

Carbon Project Manager

Harry Stam (Carbon Project Manager) holds a Bachelor of Forestry Science with Honours from the University of Canterbury. He possesses a wealth of international experience across commercial forest management, strategic operational planning, carbon project design and execution, and sustainable investment initiatives. Harry oversees all components of project delivery, including site preparation leading up to planting, contractor coordination, quality assurance and control during planting operations, as well as comprehensive inspection and performance monitoring. Overseeing projects that support long-term ecological balance, and maximise carbon capture, align with his core belief in nature-based sustainability.

Emma Hegarty

Carbon Project Manager

Emma Hegarty (Carbon Project Manager) has a Diploma in Marine Studies, Certificate’s IV in Frontline Management and Occupational Health and Safety. Emma has 10 years’ experience in quality and management within the mining industry and an additional 9 years’ experience within the agriculture industry in soil management and as a grazier. Emma lives on her home farm in WA’s Mid West region and is passionate about sustainable agriculture, the environment and her community. Emma’s strong project management skills and experience in the wider agriculture industry is an asset to the Outback Carbon team.

Elizabeth Sailer

Carbon Business Analyst

Elizabeth Sailer (Carbon Business Analyst), holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry, along with postgraduate qualifications in Oil and Gas Economics. She brings over 16 years of experience in the energy and resources sector, spanning technical, commercial, and sustainability roles. In her current role, Liz performs economic evaluations of large-scale Plantation Forestry carbon projects under the Australian Clean Energy Regulator’s Plantation Method and supports the commercial assessment of new opportunities. She assists in joint venture carbon projects and contributes to the administration of ACCU accounts for Mitsui E&P Australia’s oil and gas operations. Elizabeth has also led high-profile complex regulatory compliance projects, including the successful implementation of European Union Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) reporting. Her strengths include financial analysis, emissions reporting, stakeholder engagement, and navigating complex carbon market policies.

Jemma Tyson

Carbon Project Coordinator

Jemma Tyson (Carbon Project Coordinator) holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and comes from a rich farming background in the Wheatbelt region. Jemma assists with project registration and feasibility assessments, supporting the carbon project activities. While relatively new to the industry, Jemma is deeply passionate about learning and growing within the field of carbon management.

Xiang Li

GIS Analyst

Xiang Li (GIS Analyst) holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and has over five years of GIS experience in the carbon farming industry. She is passionate about geospatial technologies, with a strong interest in GIS and remote sensing applications. Xiang possesses solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accurate data collection, geospatial data managemenT, and data visualisation. She is committed to supporting data-driven decision-making to enable efficient and effective management of carbon projects.

Daniel Cavalari

Carbon Technical Advisor

Daniel Cavalari (Carbon Technical Advisor), holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, with further specialisations in environmental science, agroforestry, and soil science. He has over 15 years of experience applying geospatial analysis and remote sensing to support landscape restoration, regenerative agriculture, and carbon farming. With a strong background in tropical agroforestry systems, he now focuses on developing environmental solutions for large-scale forestry projects integrated with agriculture. He brings a broad skill set in technical analysis and practical fieldwork to support sustainable land management and carbon assessment strategies.
